How do we divide in base other than 10?

    For example, 6 ÷ 3 in base 4.

    Decimal to base 4 calculation:

Divide by the base to get the digits from the remainders:

    Division ....... Quotient ....... Remainder

    6/4 ....... ....... 1 ........ ...... 2 ....... 0
    1/4 ....... ....... 0 .............. 1 ....... 1
    = (12)4
When 6 is divided by 4, the quotient is 1 and the remainder is 2.
When 1 is divided by 4, the quotient is 0 and the remainder is 1.

    Division ....... Quotient .............. Remainder

    3/4 .............. 0 .............. 3
    3/4= (3)4

When 3 is divided by 4, the quotient is 0 and the remainder is 3.

    (6)10 = (12)4
    (3)10 = (3)4

    so,

    (6/3)10 = (2)4

I think base 10 is so much better. When 1 is divided by 4 the quotient is 0. How?
