faces of volume within other volume

    Hi All, Thanks for all your previous inputs. i have another problem. i have a volume similar to as shown in this link.

    When i using the alpha a value to 0.3 to visualise the inner structure similar to that in the above link . Now I want to calculate the surface area of that inner structure ONLY. I can find an approximate surface area by using [f,v] = isosurface()... which will give me the faces and the vertices of the whole volume. which i figured out how to do.

    But my question is how can i differentiate between the faces of the volume inside the other volume. because i only need the surface area of the volume within the outer volume.
