    44.

    y=x-sqrt(x) at point (1,0)

    first find the slope of tangent line

    (dy/dx)(x-sqrt(x) )=1-1/(2sqrt(x))

    compute the slope at point (1,0)

    m=1-1/(2sqrt(1))=1-1/2=1/2

    so far, tangent line is: y=(1/2)x +b

    use point to calculate b:

    0=(1/2)1+b

    0=1/2+b

    b=-1/2

    tangent line is: y=(1/2)x-1/2
