    1. Is my answer correct?

    2. Is there a better, faster approach to solving this type of messy problem? If so, can you show me by completely working out 39 step by step?

    Thank you.

    correct

    you already did fastest way

    39.

    since tan(9pi/8)=tan(pi/8)

    then tan(9pi)/8)-tan(pi/8)=0

    =>[IMG]=0

    What do you mean tan(9•pi/8) = tan(pi/8)?

    Why does tan(9pi)/8) - tan(pi/8) = 0?

    tan(9π/8)=tan(π/8+π) = tan (π/8)

    Why does tan(9pi)/8) - tan(pi/8) = 0?-> substitute tan (π/8)
    tan (π/8)- tan(pi/8) = 0

    Just got back from a rainy Coney Island day. Going back tomorrow to make a few recordings of the pier. Let me see if I can do some math before my pain in neck roommate returns.
