how to calculate ounces per day given this:

I was given this problem...
Given: "daily intake of 0.8 grams per kg of body weight"
Calculate ounces of protein per day using .8 gram per kg of body weight for a 150 pound person.
Then convert to ounces per day.

I used the process below...

Step 1: Convert weight in pounds to kg
150 = weight in pounds
2.2 = kg/pound conversion factor
68.18 = weight in kg

Step 2: Calculate daily budget
68.18 = weight in kg
0.8 g/kg = daily budget factor
54.55 = daily budget in grams

Step 3: convert to ounces per day
40.91 = grams per day allowed
0.035 g/oz = conversion factor
1.91 oz/day = ounces per day

But this is wrong according to the published answer of approximately 4 to 6 ounces per day...
as published HERE in paragraphs 3 and 4.

Where am I going wrong with the above calculation?

Your first statement is wrong. There are NOT "2.2 kg/pound", there are 2.2 POUNDS PER KG. So there are 1/2.2= 0,45 kg/pound.
