how to find time constant and settling time using matlab e.g.s/s+4

    i am experincing trouble calculating time constant,
    settling time using matlab

    first:

    sys=tf(your xfer fcn)

    then get stepspecs.m from the file exchange.

    set time constant range factor to meet your own spec range.

    In the Control System Toolbox there is a command called "stepinfo" which
    computes step response characteristics.
