I have four column by ~600 row array. I want to pick out a maximum
value from one column, but I also need the corresponding row values
for the maximum column value. Any suggestions on how to go about this?

according to the question it seems the solution by using the last
format from MAX {{[C,I] = max(...)}}, where I is the corresponding
    row values[indese of the ROW]

I think this will answer your question if I understand it correctly.
