    A pitcher can throw a ball at 95 miles per hour. What does that mean? How is this different from a car traveling at 95 miles per hour?

    A 95-mph fastball is traveling about 139 feet-per-second. That means it takes about 0.425 seconds to reach the plate. That's less than half a second for hand-eye coordination to do its thing and make a connection.

    What relationship is their between the ball traveling through the air and ground speed?
