addition is the inverse operation of subtraction
multiplication is the inverse operation of division
    squaring and square roots, etc
derivative is the inverse integral (integral function is an anti-derivative)
the inverse of f(x) is f^-1(y)
The logarithmic function is the inverse of the exponential function

Can you give an example of squaring and taking the square root?

Let me see if I can do it.

    sqrt{16} = 4 because 4^2 = 16.
    Also, sqrt{16} = -4 because (-4)^2 = 16.

    Yes?
