OT: Privacy in the Age of Facebook

Discussion in 'SAS (Statistical Analysis Software)' started by Sierra Information Services, Nov 18, 2009.

  1. Hello. This post if off-topic.

I am offering the link below to an article I wrote that was posted
today on a blog maintained by Maureen Downey, a reporter at the
Atlanta Journal Constitution who covers education and schools
    topics.

While this is, again, clearly off-topic, I am sharing it because of
the rapidly expanding use of social media sites such as Facebook and
Twitter. I hope you think it is interesting.

If nothing else, it offers a cautionary tale of how employers use (or
misuse) information they obtain from social media sites. The case
about which I wrote (and which Ms. Downey is following closely for her
readers at the AJC) involves a young teacher who was apparently forced
to resign her post after someone copied some information from her
Facebook page and anonymously emailed it to the principal of the
    school where she worked.

    The link is:

    Thanks...
