Tanya exercised for 30 minutes. She noted the calories burned three times during her workout. How can Tanya use this information to find how many calories she burned after 15 minutes of exercise?

Tanya can easily use this information to set up a proportion to find out how many calories she can burn in 15 minutes.

Let c = calories

30/15 = 3/c

15(3) = 30c

45 = 30c

45/30 = c

3/2 = c

Tanya burned 3/2 calories after 15 minutes of exercising.

Did you not notice that 30/15= 2?

2= 3/c is much simpler to solve.

At the time when solving the problem it didn't cross my mind. To answer your question, I know that 30/15 is 2. Of course, you know that solving math problems on my overnight break time (2am to 3am) is a bit hard to do. Agree? My brain is tired between 12 am and 7am.

However, it's the only time (in addition to my days off) to play with math books. I told MathLover1 that precalculus with be left for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Monday through Thursday, I will mostly post word problems. My work schedule is far from easy.
