I have two commercial, two door refrigerators.

Dimensions as follows.

Fridge 1.

29.5 inches deep
54 inches wide
78.5 inches high

Fridge 2.

32 inches deep
52 1/4 inches wide
77.5 inches high.

I have to get these into my cellar. The problem is that the garage door header is low, so we have to tip the fridges on their sides (or at least angle them) to get them under the door.

The cellar ceiling is 87 inches from concrete floor to the bottom edge of the floor joists. There is another foot from the bottom edge of the floor joists to the actual floor of the house above. The space in between joists is 15.5 inches.

Obviously, when I start tipping the fridges back on their feet, the diagonal of the units is going to be higher than the 77 - 78 inch height of the box. The diagonal measurement of the fridge is 94 inches. That will obviously not fit under the 87 inch joists.

The question I have is if i put the top, tallest edge in between the joists while it is on it's side, does this give me enough room to tip the fridges back on their feet?

No idea how to calculate this. I don't want to pay movers to try this for real with a 200 pound unit only to find out it won't work.

Can someone help with this real world issue?

Thanks

if you can sketch the cellar and put all dimensions would be easier to me to see is it possible or not
