    Question 9

    r = tan θ

    Let tan θ = y/x.

    r = y/x

    r^2 = (y/x)^2

    x^2 + y^2 = (y/x)^2

    x^2 + y^2 - (y/x)^2 = 0

    You say?

    finish
    x^2 + y^2 - y^2/x^2= 0.....multiply by x^2
    x^2(x^2 + y^2) - y^2= 0.....solve for y

    x^2(x^2 + y^2) =y^2

    y=sqrt(x^2(x^2 + y^2))

    y=x*sqrt(x^2 + y^2)

    Do I really need to solve for y?

    So, it's a personal preference not a requirement.
