Section 3.1
46 & 48
Question 46
e^(2x - 1) = e^4
The base e is the same on both sides.
2x - 1 = 4
2x = 4 + 1
2x = 5
x = 5/2
Question 48
e^(x^2 + 6) = e^5x
x^2 + 6 = 5x
x^2 - 5x + 6 = 0
(x - 3)(x - 2) = 0
x - 3 = 0
x = 3
x - 2 = 0
x = 2
NOTE: We will continue with precalculus this week and back to calculus 1 next week.
