If zero is found at k = 3, one factor of the polynomial is (x - 3).

Using synthetic division, I found x^2 + 2x - 4 with remainder -5 to be the answer.

I need to write the answer in the form (x - k)•q(x) + r.

My final answer is as follows:

(x^2 + 2x - 4)(x - 3) - 5
