Solve for n & x

1. where is that problem from? ...you cannot isolate variable n
all you can do is only solve for the variable t

2.

x^2(x^2+y^2)=y^2

y^2=x^4+x^2y^2

y^2-x^2y^2=x^4

y^2(1-x^2)=x^4

y^2=x^4/ (1-x^2)

y=sqrt(x^4/ (1-x^2))

y=sqrt(x^4)/sqrt( (1-x^2))

y= x^2/sqrt( (1-x^2))

Problem 1 is from David Cohen's Precalculus 4th Edition textbook.
