I made a mistake thinking to be in Chapter 2. We are still in Chapter 1, Section 2.

For (a), let x = 108.

| 108 - 110 | <= 5

| - 2 | <= 5

2 <= 5

Acceptable.

For (b), let x = 104.

| 104 - 110 | <= 5

| -6 | <= 5

6 <= 5 is a false statement.

So, not acceptable.
