    Section 2.3
    72 (a - c)

    Can you do 72 as a guide for me to do 74 on my own?

    Thanks

    P. S. If division is involved, use synthetic division.

    g(x)=x^3+3x^2-2x-6

    a.

    b. determine exact values of one of the zeros

    x=-3

    c.
    if zero x=-3

    -3| 1 3 -2 -6
    ..
    .. -3 0 6
    -----------------------------
    ..1 0 -2 0

    quotient is x^2+0*x-2=x^2-2

    then find zeros

    x^2-2=0
    x^2=2
    x=sqrt(2) or x= -sqrt(2)

    to three decimal places:
    x=1.414 or x= -1.414

    You make math so simple to grasp. You never attack me like they do in almost every math forum. I just got home from the beach. This means I may not be able to complete Section 2.3 tonight as desired but let's see.
