    College Algebra
    Section R.8

    Factor the expression so that only positive exponents occur.

    How is 118 done?

    118.
    upload_2022-4-27_12-47-56.gif where x>=0

    note that upload_2022-4-27_12-48-56.gif

    so we have

    = upload_2022-4-27_12-49-46.gif .........factor out common 2*x^(1/2)

    = upload_2022-4-27_12-50-32.gif

    = upload_2022-4-27_12-50-59.gif

    = upload_2022-4-27_12-51-26.gif

    x^(3/2) = x^(2/2)*x^(1/2)=x*x^(1/2)

    or
    upload_2022-4-27_16-27-58.gif =x*x^(1/2)
