Find Number of Meters

    The average speed of a car is 75 km/h. How many meters can the car travel in 20 minutes ?

    A 25
    B 250
    C 2500
    D 25000
    E none of these

    Let me see. I sense conversion factors is needed here.

    D = rt

    I know that 20 minutes is 1/3 of an hour.

    Set up:

    D = (1/3)(75)

    D = 25 km.

    How many meters in 25 km?

    Using an online calculator, 25 km = 25,000 meters. So, the answer is choice D.

    However, how do I convert 25 km to meters without a calculator?

    multiply by 1000 because 1km=1000m

    25 km to meters is 25000m
