    correct

    just rationalize to eliminate sqrt(3) in denominator

    =(1+sqrt(3))/(1-sqrt(3))......rationalize

    =(1+sqrt(3))^2/((1-sqrt(3))(1+sqrt(3)))

    =(1+sqrt(3))^2/((1-(sqrt(3))^2))

    =(1+sqrt(3))^2/(1-3)

    =-(1+sqrt(3))^2/2
    =-2 (2 + sqrt(3))/2
    =-2 - sqrt(3)

    you made mistake with sign, here should be

    and result will be:
    =2 + sqrt(3)

    Ok. I will take credit for all the work. We have already discussed sign errors. On a CUNY test, this question is worth 5 or 6 points. In terms of the sign error, professors will deduct about 3 points.
