AB = BC

3(x - 15) = x + 3

3x - 45 = x + 3

3x - x = 3 + 45

2x = 48

(1/2)(2x) = (1/2)(48)

x = 24

AC = AB + BC

AC = 3(x - 15) + x + 3

Let x = 24

AC = 3(24 - 15) + 24 + 3

AC = 3(9) + 27

AC = 27 + 27

AC = 54
