    1..Danny is 60lbs, Maria is 40lbs, both are balanced on seesaw that is 10ft. If the fulcrum is x ft away from Danny, what is x?

    Danny.........f...........Maria

    Distance from Danny to f = x.
    Distance from Maria to f = 10 - x.

    Equation

    60x= 40(10 - x)

    You say?.

    2. John weighs 80 pounds and sits 4 feet from the fulcrum of a seesaw. If Sally weighs 100 pounds and sits on the other side, how far from the fulcrum must she sit to have the seesaw balance?

    John........f...........Sally

    Distance from John to f = 4 feet.
    Distance from Sally to f = x.

    Equation

    80(4) = 100x

    Yes?
