    Question 30

    Use the One-to-One Property for 30 and 32.

    log_a (x) = log_a (y) = x = y.

    log_2 (x - 3) = log_2 (9)

    x - 3 = 9

    x = 9 + 3

    x = 12

    Question 32

    Note: log without a base means log_10.

    log (x^2 + 6x) = log 27

    x^2 + 6x = 27

    x^2 + 6x - 27 = 0

    (x + 9)(x - 3) = 0

    x + 9 = 0

    x = -9

    x - 3 = 0

    x = 3

    You say?
