    you made mistake at 2[-6]w, should be -12w, not -18w

    The problem also said "state whether the answer is a scalar or a vector" but you did not do that.

    NO, it is not! And your mistake is much worse than just -18 instead of -12.
    -18< 3, -1> is NOT the scalar -18(3)+18= -36. It is the vector <-18(3), -18(-1)>= < -54, 18>.
