    The length and width of a rectangular
    garden are 15 meters and 10 meters, respectively. A walkway of width x surrounds the garden.

    (a) Draw a diagram that gives a visual representation of the problem.

    (b) Write the equation for the perimeter y of the
    walkway in terms of x.

    For (a), see attachment. Is my picture correct?

    For (b), see below.

    y = perimeter

    y = 2L + 2W

    y = 2(x + x + 15) + 2(x + x + 10)

    y = 2(2x + 15) + 2(2x + 10)

    y = 4x + 30 + 4x + 20

    y = 8x + 50

    You say?

    calculation is perfect, but a diagram is not
    should be like this:

    I forgot to represent the length as x.
