So, -(1 - sqrt{2}) + 1.
-1+ sqrt{2} + 1
Answer: sqrt{2}

Since x < 3, the value inside the bars is negative.
So, -(x - 3) = -x + 3
Question 30
The value inside the bars is positive.
So, the answer is x^4 +1.
