    The graph passes the vertical line test. Thus, the graph represents y as a function of x.

    Question 12

    The graph fails the vertical line test.
    Thus, the graph does not represent y as a function of x.

    It feels good to be right. By the way, I have not posted every type of question listed in Section 1.1 through Section 1.5. I know how to solve most of the questions. I will only post questions that I have forgotten how to solve and/or questions that are totally unfamiliar to me. This explains why we are in Section 1.5 so soon in our journey.
