I am have tried trig substitution and Udv but can get it.

Can you help with this question?

The op could have "confirmed" the answer just as you did Phil. In fact they probably did. You need to ask them questions, about their method. Not just give an answer. As we have discussed. Also throw in some nicety's. again as we have discussed. For example...

Bigbabydavis.....Lets talk about the process you are using. Togehter I know we can figure out what you are doing wrong. Good Luck in your studies!

The poster did not ask for help setting up his integral, just for how to evaluate it.

So I assumed that he set up the integral, which is straightforward from Calculus I.

This integral, however, cannot be evaluated by the usual techniques from first year calculus, so I pointed him to the specific integral formula I used. I do not know how this formula is derived. Many people also do not know. That's why such tables of integrals are published.

Then, to check my work, I used the desmos calculator to confirm, but this is not a substitute for solving the integral.

If the poster has a problem, then he can speak for himself.

Also, the poster did not do anything wrong, he just got stuck with a non-trivial integral to solve.

The op stated that they were using Udv....and trig sub....neither did you address. You used your own method...then refused to show your work. They might speak for themselves if you were nicer to people. And showed YOUR work....you should really know better. You MUST show your work, especially if "helping" others.

He said he "tried" trig subs and udv, not that he "used" either.

I clearly stated my method - I showed the link to the specific formula I used for the volume integral for this calculation. For a calculus student, which I assume he is, this was enough - no further work needed to show.

If he needs more help after this, he'll say so - easy enough.

As far as being "nice" to people - why don't you just shut up?

Typically "trying" is "using". Perhaps not in this case. We, and you should assume the best in others however. Further showing of work is always needed for these who NEED help! You know this....as to your burst of anger.....I love and forgive you Phil. Have a blessed day!
