For 12a, the graph of f(x) = x^3 has been shifted upward by one unit on the y-axis. Based on this fact, I say the answer is f(x) = x^3 + 1.
For 12b, the shape is reversed and shifted to the left by 4 units on the x-axis. Based on this fact, I say the equation we want is f(x) = -(x + 4)^3.
