    Question 14

    See attachment.

For 14a, f(x) = sqrt{x} has been shifted one unit to the left and downward 7 units.

    Answer: f(x) = sqrt{x + 1} - 7.

For 14b, f(x) = sqrt{x} has been shifted 3 units to the right and downward by 4 units. The graph has also been reversed.

    Answer: f(x) = -sqrt{x - 3} - 4.

    You say?

    14a correct

14b f(x) = sqrt{x} has been shifted 3 units to the right and downward by 4 units -> correct
also the graph is reflected about x and y axis

    Answer: f(x) = -sqrt{ 3-x } - 4

    Why do we switch the radicand from (x - 3) to (3 - x)?
