I understand that I need to write a quadratic function in the form f(x) = a(x - h)^2 + k.

Question 35

Vertex = (h, k) = (-2, -1)

Shifted left 2 units

Shifted down 1 unit

f(x) = (x -(-2))^2 - 1

f(x) = (x + 2)^2 - 1

Question 36

Vertex = (h, k) = (-2, 2)

Shifted 2 units to the left

Shifted up 2 units

Inverted, which means a minus sign is included

f(x) = -(x - (-2))^2 + 2

f(x) = -(x + 2)^2 + 2
